Datingbutton.com sells a physical button for singles. We handle your personal data with care and process it in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This policy explains which data we process, why, and what rights you have.

1. Who we are

Datingbutton.com is responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this policy. For privacy questions you can reach us at info@datingbutton.com.

2. Which data we process

We only process the data needed to handle your order:

  • Order details: your name, address, postal code, city and e-mail address, as entered on the order page.
  • Payment details: the status of your payment via the payment link. We never see your bank details; payment is handled entirely by our payment provider.
  • Technical data: limited server data (such as IP addresses in log files) required to keep the website secure.

We don’t ask you to create an account and we don’t collect profile or dating data. The button itself contains no chip, code or personal data.

3. What we use your data for

  • Handling and delivering your order (legal basis: performance of a contract).
  • Sending the payment link and order confirmation by e-mail (legal basis: performance of a contract).
  • Keeping our administration (legal basis: legal obligation).
  • Securing the website (legal basis: legitimate interest).

We don’t use your data for newsletters, advertising or profiling, and we never sell your data to third parties.

4. Who we share data with

Only with parties needed to handle your order:

  • Delivery service (such as PostNL): name and address, to deliver your button.
  • Payment provider: to process your payment via the payment link.
  • Hosting provider: our website runs on servers located in the Netherlands.

Where required, we conclude data processing agreements with parties that process data on our behalf. We do not transfer data to countries outside the European Economic Area.

5. How long we keep your data

  • Order details: up to two years after delivery, for questions, returns and warranty.
  • Invoice and payment details: seven years, due to Dutch tax retention obligations.
  • Server log files: a few weeks at most.

6. Cookies

This website only uses functional cookies that are necessary for the site to work. We don’t use tracking or advertising cookies, which is why there is no cookie banner.

7. Security

The connection to our website is encrypted (HTTPS). Your data is stored on secure servers in the Netherlands and is only accessible to those who need it to handle your order.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access, correct or delete your data;
  • restrict or object to the processing of your data;
  • receive your data in a readable format (data portability).

Send your request to info@datingbutton.com; we will respond within four weeks. Not satisfied with how we handle your data? You can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

9. Changes

We may update this privacy policy, for example when our way of working changes. The current version can always be found on this page.
